Áster is made from 100% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grown on the the Fuentecojo and El Caño vineyards which surround the winery. The wine spends 22 months in new French Oak (70%) and the remainder 2nd fill barrels. Black cherry in colour the nose displays intense aromas of ripe berries, currants, blackberries, violet flowers and fennel, with a complex background of sweet spices, liquorice, cedar, tobacco leaf and cocoa powder. The palate is powerful, with great structure and balance, mineral, with a pleasant acidity and creamy tannins.
