Born in Scotland, raised in Texas, if there’s one thing Storywood’s founder Michael knows it’s good Scotch, Bourbon and Whisky. It was April 2016 when Michael started spending more time in his mother’s hometown of San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. An unexpected meeting with master distiller Luis Trejo at the Distiller La Cofradia, turned his direction. This was the beginning of a journey to create unique barrel aged tequilas. Where most play it safe and follow the crowd, Storywood take a torch to tradition and rally against routine to create a new era of agave spirits. These tequilas begin with ten year-old mature 100% blue weber agave, harvested from the lowland region of Jalisco and married with the natural spring water from Volcan de Tequila that flows down from the mountains. This liquid, much like a new make spirit, is then locked away in the finest of oak casks which have travelled three continents to create something truly special. The Storywood Tequila Sepyside 7 Reposado is aged over 7 months in Speyside Scotch Whisky barrels sourced from Dufftown, Scotland and bottled at cask strength.
