The Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons Baron Edmond is a classic red Bordeaux blend that honours the Rothschild family’s French heritage. This style of red wine is celebrated and revered the world over and the team at Rupert & Rothschild have made sure that their winemaking approach respects the traditional production principles of this region, channeled to craft a truly extraordinary and truly distinguished South African wine. The blend for this vintage of the flagship red wine consists of Merlot (40%), Cabernet Franc (23%), Cabernet Sauvignon (29%) and Malbec (3%) matured for 18 months in French oak barrels of which 54% were new and the remainder second and third fill barrels. The Baron Edmond displays expressive aromas of juicy blackberries and plum with hints of pencil shavings.
