Situated at the highest point of the Beaujolais Crus, Chiroubles is a small, hilly appellation to the west of Fleurie. Made from the Gamay grape, the wines benefit from a cooler climate and granite-rich soils, producing probably the regions lightest and most refreshing examples. The Domaine Lafarge Vial Chiroubles has a ripe and well-defined bouquet, a mixture of blueberry and black cherry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, fleshy with a sweet, candied finish.
