Founded in 1981 by winemaker Johnny Graham, who represents the 5th generation of his family to make wine in the Douro Valley, Churchill’s remains a family-owned independent producer. The Grafite Touriga Nacional is made exclusively from Touriga Nacional grapes grown on Churchill's own Douro estates located in the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior sub-regions of the Douro Valley. Matured for 12 months in 2nd and 3rd year French oak casks, it is fined and lightly filtered before bottling. This wine is intense and complex on the palate, with aromas of wild basil and notes of fresh green peppers and spices.
