The Pierro Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Reserve is a combined blend of four different grape varieties each making a distinctive contribution to the resultant wine. Cabernet Sauvignon provides power and longevity, Merlot adds richness and opulence, Petit Verdot tannin and acidity and Cabernet Franc fragrance and delicacy. Maturation in new French oak has resulted in additional complexity and structure as well as helping soften the tannins. Deep coloured with a fruity, leafy nose the palate is medium-bodied, with ripe cherry pastille and mulberry flavours, and gentle grip on the finish.
